Finally. Finally! The wait is (almost) over. After taking the lead in the all-in-one sales and marketing automation suites for small businesses arena by introducing the amazing drag-and-drop campaign builder (and thus setting a new standard for integrated tools for the small biz sector), Infusionsoft put their fans, customers and consultants up to a very long, frustrating wait.

While everybody left and right was rolling out modern interfaces to build responsive emails (even Ontraport beat them to it, despite their considerable younger age and smaller team, see their email builder in action here (scroll down and watch video)), Infusionsoft customers were asking in vain for mobile responsive emails. Or anything responsive for that matter. Minimal improvements have since been made on order forms and landing pages, but it really looks more like an alibi to me.

In a world where 70% of emails and landing pages are being opened on mobile devices this was simply inconceivable…

Deep breath – enough of a rant, I’m here today to spread the GOOD news:
Released to a small group of alpha testers in November 2015, and now to a bigger group of beta testers, Infusionsoft has launched a modern builder for mobile responsive emails. For now it is only available in beta, and only for email broadcasts and not yet in the Campaign Builder, but I’m sure that will happen as soon as all the kinks have been smoothed out. [/cs_text][cs_text]With this new builder they are trying to achieve, in their own words:

  1. Make it easy to create a professional-looking email.
  2. Ensure consistent text formatting throughout the email, even when pasting text.
  3. Deliver responsive mobile-friendly emails.
  4. Simplify editing and rearranging content in an email.
  5. Provide a selection of high quality templates to start from.

Let’s have a look, shall we?[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]Download the free guide here now.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_custom_headline level=”h2″ looks_like=”h3″ accent=”false” style=”margin-bottom:20px;”]Templates[/x_custom_headline][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://www.smallbizautomationtools.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/bl.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]The template gallery page currently features 12 pre-designed, great looking templates that you can choose to start from. I’m sure that Infusionsoft will add plenty more templates over time, and quite possibly (this is not confirmed) email templates can be purchased through the Infusionsoft Marketplace in the future.

In this stage of development the following blocks are available to be put in your email: Text, Spacer, Divider, Image, Button, Social, Group, and Video.
They may add a handful more blocks, hopefully also an html-snippet block…
Simply drag a block from the blocks tab and drop it into the email where you want it to be. Smooth! [/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://www.smallbizautomationtools.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/ld_2.gif” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]What’s super cool and powerful in the new builder is that the layout of the email is very flexible. You can place up to 3 blocks of any type next to each other in the same row, and the other blocks will automatically adjust their size to accommodate the new addition.
Or, if a block needs a bit more space, simply move it into a new row. As you’re dragging out a new block or moving an existing one, the builder will show you a preview of where the block is going to land before you let go so you can make sure it lands where you want it to go.

All blocks are configured through the settings panel on the left. Only the text blocks are being changed via an in-line menu that appears above the text block as you click on it.
Notice the improvement that you can now insert merge fields right there, with a click in the “insert” button, instead of leaving the canvas.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://www.smallbizautomationtools.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/bld_4.png” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]A nice detail that they really thought through is the new button block, which makes it simple to add a great looking button to your email.
It is not image based and will show even if the reader has images disabled. Also, these kind of buttons have a much greater call-to-action conversion rate than simple text links.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://www.smallbizautomationtools.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/blid_5.gif” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]Another great new block is the group block, a combination of image, text and button within the same block, which is used to make sure that related content is grouped together properly when the email is viewed on a mobile device.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_custom_headline level=”h2″ looks_like=”h3″ accent=”false” style=”margin-bottom:20px;”]Built in Image Editing[/x_custom_headline][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://www.smallbizautomationtools.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/7839474_orig.png” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]The new built-in Image Editor (by the looks of it powered by Adobe Cloud) is versatile and a huge time saver.

This first iteration of Infusionsoft’s new email builder looks clean, simple, intuitive and well thought through. It has all the necessary basic building blocks that enable you to build great looking emails, no matter on which device they are being opened.

This is only the beginning. Time will tell when this will actually be available to all Infusionsoft customers, and if all bugs will be found and dealt with quickly.

A real milestone to look forward to is when this builder will be available inside Infusionsoft’s great drag-and-drop campaign builder, so that all your automated campaigns can take advantage of it.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]
